  Welcome

Welcome to the Ethics Training and Compliance Center. As in previous years, the interactive program that you are about to begin, will allow you to meet your annual ethics training obligation, which is a requirement of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. I am hopeful that you will find the new content within this program to be both interesting and useful.

Although some of you may be familiar with many of the standards of conduct that are reflected in this program, your thoughtful review of this information will serve as a reminder of your responsibility to always conduct state activities with honesty, integrity and fairness.

To demonstrate your commitment to acting ethically, please take the time to carefully read and review all of the subject matter contained in this course. Failure to do so may result in the invalidation of an employee's training record and a requirement to complete additional training.

Remember, we must all work together and perform our responsibilities in accordance with the standards set forth in the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, and other laws, rules and state policies, in order to maintain the public's trust in the operation of our state government.

Sincerely,

Signature of James A. Wright

2008 Ethics Training Program

Internet-based ethics training for executive-branch state employees who fall under the jurisdiction of the Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor will begin as early as May 1, 2008.

Employees can expect to be notified by their state agency of the specific dates that apply to their online training period, during which they will be required to complete a 2008 program in order to comply with the annual ethics training obligation under the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. Access to training programs are strictly limited to each state agency’s assigned training period.

Approximately 130,000 employees of State of Illinois agencies and departments, State Public Universities and Illinois Community College Districts completed online ethics training during 2007.
